Its not because you injured yourself, its a sign of poor calcium. Increase your calcium and they should grow out. Not a life or death situation, just your body telling you what it needs.Why do you have white small lines in your nails that grow up and up?
Those lines are indiciative of some sort of injury to the nail bed when that part of the nail was forming. It could be quite a minor injury - maybe getting a finger pinched by a door or a similar injury. As it grows out, you see it; since it grows so slowly, you don't automatically associate the injury with the problem, especially if it was minor and you simply brushed it off and forgot about it.
Usually it is an indicator that there is something missing in your diet, or you are using some type of drug you shouldn't be using.
