Do you think getting your hair and nails done for 8th grade graduation is necessary?

im going to graduate 8th grade soon every one says they're going to get their nails done and their hair done, do you think that is really necessary for an 8th grade graduation?Do you think getting your hair and nails done for 8th grade graduation is necessary?

I don't think it is necessary but if you want to it's your special day. Don't feel peer pressured by your friends. You could go through magazines and find a hair style you like and ask a family member to style your hair for you! You can do your own nails by giving yourself a manicure by soaking your hands, pushing your cuticles back, choosing a nice neutral shade (these colors are less noticeable if you make a small error), applying two coats, wait until they are completely dry and apply a clear top coat. If you do these things your nails will look like you had them done professionally. Nobody will know you did them yourself. Do this the night before you graduate so you go to bed with that pampered princess feeling! Another good option is to find a beauty school in your area. They can do any style you find and are MUCH cheaper. There is always a supervisor working in case a problem arises. They need the experience and are more then willing to do updo's. My hairdresser friends say that updo's are their favorite things to do because they can be creative and fun. Most beauty schools have nail technicians in training. You could get your hair and nails done at a beauty school for under $30 including tip compared to $25 for nails, and $30-$40 for a trip to the hair salon. If you are more comfortable doing your hair and nail yourself then by all means do it yourself. Just follow your instincts and don't feel pressured by your friends!
It's not necessary at all. I didn't even get my hair or nails done for my high school graduation. It's not like people can see it anyway, and even if they did no one would really care. It's just going to be your classmates' families in the audience, and they aren't there to judge you, they're there to see their kids. I'm not saying you should look frumpy or anything, but my suggestion would be to just do it all yourself and save money. Just buy a light or sheer-colored nail polish and do it yourself, and you can straighten or curl your hair with a straightening iron or curling iron if you have one.

no, its not really necessary. I'm going 2 graduate from year 8 this year 2. i'm just doing my own hair, no need to go 2 a hairdresser, and buying a bottle of nail polish instead of getting them done professionally, but i guess the choice is yours.
I think 8th grade is a little excessive. I mean, you can if you want, just don't spend tons of money on it.


For my high school graduation I didn't even anything like that, nor did anyone else I graduated with.

it's not necessary at all! my mom wanted to treat me to a manicure for a little graduation present, so i did, but the majority of my friends didn't do anything!
I know I did because it was a special day, Its a one time only, and you gonna take alot of pictures so you do wanna look nice. But if thats not you then don't do it.

It really depends on what type of person you are...


It'll make you look nice! Like if you have relatives or family you don't see so often coming, like I did, it makes a nice impression.
